KOTA KINABALU (Oct 26): One hundred and forty-five illegal immigrants (PTI) were detained by the State Immigration Department during an operation at Kampung Lutut in Ranau on Saturday.
Sabah Immigration Department director Datuk SH Sitti Saleha Habib Yussof said those detained were 30 Filipino men, 19 Filipino women and 33 Filipino children, while Indonesians comprised 32 men, 14 women and 17 children, aged from three months to 62 years old,” she said in a statement on Saturday.
Sitti Saleha said the 145 foreigners had committed various offenses under Section 6 (1) (c), Section 15 (1) (c) and Section 55E (1) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
