Kota Kinabalu: A total of 32 women non-governmental organisations (NGOs) received grants to empower women in Sabah.
Assistant Minister of Community Development and People’s Welfare, Datuk Flovia Ng, said the grants can leave a big impact in empowering the community, especially women.
“We received more than 100 applications and 32 NGOs were selected to receive the grants this year.
“As we all know, NGOs are a medium to serve the community.

“This is very exciting, with such provision, it can have great impact on women.
“To form a harmonious and responsible society, women NGOs have an important role in delivering information to the community, especially in Sabah,” she said when speaking at the Jhewa Synergy Night 2024, here, recently.
The Chairman of the Sabah Development Studies Institute (IDS), Datuk Seri Panglima Azizah Mohd Dun, Chairmanof Puspanita Sabah, Datuk Nuinda Alias, Permanent Secretary of the Community Development and People’s Well-being, Datuk Maria Chong and Sabah Information Director, Jainisah Mohd Noor were also present at the event.
