KOTA KINABALU (Nov 27): The Kota Kinabalu City Hall (DBKK) has extended the exchange of parking coupon value to Sabah Smart Parking (SSP) credit until December 2024.
This is one of the proactive measures taken to address concerns raised by the city dwellers, especially senior citizens about the usage of SSP application.
Effective 16 November 2024, DBKK has discontinued the physical parking coupons (scratch) replacing them entirely with the use of the SSP application.
DBKK, through DBKK Holdings Sdn Bhd (DBKKH), has anticipated the challenges faced by motorists who have yet to download the SSP application; possess no smartphones; non-subscribe or lag of internet access; online banking not available.
To overcome the issues, the city dwellers may visit DBKKH’s service counters/booths to purchase SSP credit, get assistance in downloading the SSP application and in registering up to 10 vehicles per application as well as facilitate the purchase of SSP credit via counter.
The operation hours for DBKKH’s service counters/booths will be Monday to Friday : 8am to 5pm and Saturday 8am to 1pm.
In addition to the above, DBKKH has established “SSP Learning Centre” to facilitate guidance and training on the usage of SSP application such as purchases of credit. This centre will be located at KK Sentral Building, Pusat Jualan Kraftangan Block B, Level 2, Jalan Kemajuan Kota Kinabalu.
Operating hours: Mondays to Saturdays – 8am to 5pm.
“We also have our blue-uniformed enforcers stationed around the city to assist and respond to any needs promptly,” DBKKH said in a statement today.
On the other hand, the users can also utilize the following features provided in the SSP application:
Assisting their family members or friends to make parking payments on their behalf and registering up to 10 vehicles under one SSP account for multiple vehicles.
Users are advised to enable the “notifications” in their SSP application for any important alerts, such as the 10-minute reminder before parking time is lapsed or parking time has ended.
The “Contact Us” features provide users to submit issues directly by navigating to Settings > Contact Us > Click for a New Support Ticket.
“Users issued with compound while displaying physical parking coupons (scratch) could visit our service counters/booths to appeal for cancellation purposes. This process will be handled administratively,” said DBKKH.
Since the implementation of SSP on 16 October 2024, more than 125,000 users have downloaded the application. This revealed a strong support for SSP in Kota Kinabalu City.
DBKKH said it remains attentive to user concerns and committed to addressing all issues related to SSP usage appropriately and amicably.
For further information, users may contact DBKK Holdings Sdn Bhd, Parking Management Division at 088-270-181/182 / 012-7690181, or visit to any service counters/booths.
