KOTA KINABALU (Oct 1): CKS Retail Sdn Bhd has opened its first 24-hour retail outlet at Lido here on Tuesday.
Its general manager, Ivan Chua, said that they have 63 outlets altogether with the Lido branch being the first to run round the clock.
He added that the outlet has 12,000 products ranging from non food like detergents to fresh products such as poultry and seafood.
“We aim to provide competitive pricing,” he said at the retail outlet launching which was graced and launched by Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe.
Chua also said that a lot of shoppers enjoy shopping after working hours to escape the busy traffic jams.
He also mentioned that there are three cashier counters and three self check-out counters prepared to ensure smooth traffic while paying.
Chua also said that customers he met were pleased with the outlet being opened at the place.
Meanwhile, Phoong expressed satisfaction towards the opening of the outlet.
“It is better lit and more senior citizen friendly with its spacious pathways,” he said.
“I was raised in this neighbourhood and spent a large part of my life here when it was still Milimewa,” he said.
He added that new and young entrepreneurs were bringing new and revitalising ideas to the Lido community.
He urged more entrepreneurs to realise their ideas and set up cafes and coffeeshops.
“It is a welcome change,” he said.
Phoong also mentioned the Lido flood mitigation scheme would be completed soon and said that positive change could already be experienced.
“In the past several decades, flood was horrible and would reach over one foot at the shops,” he said.
Also present at the event were Cara Kaya Sdn Bhd Managing Director Andy Goh and Luyang Community Leader Chin Thau Kwong.
