SANDAKAN: The Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) is prepared to take on the challenge from Umno/Barisan Nasional (BN) in Lamag in the upcoming State Election (PRN-17).
The Vice President of Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat), Datuk Masiung Banah, stated that GRS, supported by Gagasan Rakyat, aims to win the Lamag state seat from the opposition.
“I see a strong political aura in Sabah, particularly in Lamag, favouring the local party,” he remarked during the inauguration of the new Gagasan Rakyat Lamag office led by its chief, Abu Bakar Gapar, in Bukit Garam on Thursday.
Masiung expressed confidence that the local party contesting in Lamag, which serves as the backbone of GRS, can capture this traditional Umno/BN stronghold.
The Kuamut representative assured that GRS will field the best candidates to capture the seat in PRN.
“I observe that the three main wings, namely Youth, Women, and Beliawanis, have already begun mobilising across the region.
“Additionally, the main wings of GRS have been organised according to their respective Polling District Centres (PDM),” he emphasised.
Masiung urged the three main wings in Lamag to remain diligent in fulfilling their responsibilities and to consistently follow the directives from the party leadership.
He noted that the Gagasan Rakyat division must strengthen the spirit of camaraderie with coalition parties within GRS to win the hearts of voters in the area.
