This program continues the KIS initiative previously implemented in several other states, organized by the Ministry of Communications through the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).

A total of 120 Year 1 to Year 3 students participated in the campaign at SK Pasir Puteh, the first primary school in Keningau to adopt the module designed specifically for students aged 7 to 9.

The campaign uses specially tailored modules to enhance understanding of general Internet usage, functions of Internet applications, and awareness of online risks and threats. Students were also informed about the minimum age requirement of 13 years and above for owning social media accounts.

Additionally, KIS highlights the dangers of uncontrolled Internet use and encourages exploration of more positive alternative activities. This approach aims to help students grasp basic digital literacy, recognize risks like cyberbullying and online grooming, and learn safe and responsible Internet practices.

The campaign is expected to emphasize online safety aspects, foster early awareness, and cultivate a culture of positive, safe and responsible Internet usage among school students.
